In 2018, Miami-Dade court records leaked revealing that Kid Buu pled guilty to charges of child abuse in 2008. Now, a new report from TMZ published early Monday (Feb. 4) reveal what led to that conviction.According to the celebrity news site, Kid Buu, born Markquez Santiago, got into a fight with the mother of his daughter over a check she wanted to cash. The mother was reportedly under the age of 18 at the time. From there, Buu reportedly snatched the check out of her hands while leaving their apartment, but when he later returned, she threatened to call 911.The police report states that after the woman threatened to call the police, Kid Buu punched her in the face with a closed fist right in front of their 2-year-old daughter. From that point, Buu allegedly pulled out a gun and told her he’d “kill the cops” if they came.The police eventually did come by after Buu’s girlfriend fled their home and called 911 on a security guard’s phone. The Florida rapper was eventually arrested after refusing to cooperate, and later pled guilty to charges of child abuse without causing great bodily harm, intimidation, robbery by sudden snatching and criminal mischief. No gun was ever recovered, and Buu was sentenced to two years probation, which he completed in 2010.In his December 2018 interview with XXL, Kid Buu addressed the charges for the first time. He denied any wrongdoing, and said that while he’s unable to rehash the incident in detail, he noted that the minor victim was unharmed and that they did not press charges.”The child abuse is, in fact, labeled ‘child abuse with no harm,'” Buu told XXL. “When you play with Florida, they make things sound even more nastier than what it needs to be. I was like, I’m just gonna plead guilty for my own convenience to move on with life.”The rapper was recently in the news for dating Blac Chyna, but the pair have since separated after he reportedly choked Chyna before slamming her against a wall during a recent trip. Buu has since denied the allegations and called them “bullshit.”See 22 Hip-Hop-Related Police Raids window.twttr = (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0], t = window.twttr || {}; if (d.getElementById(id)) return t; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); t._e = []; t.ready = function(f) { t._e.push(f); }; return t; }(document, “script”, “twitter-wjs”)); (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, “script”, “facebook-jssdk”));
